Excerpt from my diary, pre-surgery:
Didn't sleep well. Am I nervous? yes...anxious? yes...excited? yes. What if I fail? So many people are counting on me. I know the band is the best surgery for me. I am a pro at losing weight. Where I struggle is the maintenance. I know the band will help me keep my portions under control.
The camera guy is following me around today and it is fun, but weird. During the interview, he asked me a lot of questions that made me think and reflect on how my obesity has affected me. What my plans are and where I see myself in 6 months and five years. These are really important things for me to think about. Not just today but frequently. This is a life-long project, not just a couple months.
